They are currently seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Consultant to join their team in Warsaw on a contract basis. This opportunity offers the chance to work across a complex SAP environment, managing critical enterprise systems and contributing to technical projects that support business operations.

Position Overview

As an SAP BASIS Consultant, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and optimisation of the organisation's SAP landscape. This role requires hands-on technical expertise across SAP NetWeaver, HANA database administration, and both ABAP and Java stacks. You will serve as a technical escalation point for complex incidents, manage system performance, and contribute to upgrade and migration projects. Your work will directly impact system availability, performance and security across the enterprise SAP environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer SAP systems including ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA and Solution Manager


• Perform system installations, configurations, upgrades and kernel updates


• Manage transport management (STMS), system copies and client copies


• Monitor system performance and proactively address technical bottlenecks


• Diagnose and resolve complex incidents related to availability and connectivity


• Analyse alerts from monitoring tools including Solution Manager and CCMS


• Document root cause analyses and implement preventive measures


• Process service requests for system parameter changes and configurations


• Conduct regular system health checks and performance tuning activities


• Optimise SAP HANA database administration including backups and recovery


• Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions


• Manage SSL certificates, SSO configurations and audit logging


• Ensure system security through patching and vulnerability assessments


• Support SAP upgrade, migration and implementation projects


• Provide BASIS expertise in architecture design and deployment planning


• Administer non-NetWeaver products such as Business Objects and OpenText


• Configure and maintain Fiori applications and Web Dispatchers


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on SAP BASIS administration experience


• Strong expertise in SAP HANA database administration


• Proven experience with SAP NetWeaver (ABAP and Java stacks)


• Knowledge of non-NetWeaver products (Business Objects, BODS, OpenText, Convergent Charging)


• Experience with operating systems including Linux and Windows


• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualisation (VMware)


• Demonstrated experience in incident management within ITIL frameworks


• Proven ability to fulfil service requests efficiently


• Hands-on experience with SAP upgrades and system patching


• Strong knowledge of SSL certificate installation and renewal


• Experience configuring Fiori and Web Dispatchers


• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure


• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration


• Experience with transport management and system copies


• Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions


• Understanding of system security, compliance and audit requirements


• Experience supporting large-scale cloud operations
