Team 

Run My Business is responsible for strengthening SumUp’s connection with merchants across a diverse suite of products—including robust Online Stores, secure Online Payments, convenient Payment Links, efficient Bookings & Appointment management, and versatile Gift Cards.

We’re looking for a skilled Analytics Engineer to join our team and lead the development and maintenance of our shared data repository. This includes expanding the scope of our data assets, managing change effectively, and upholding the principles of dbt ownership. You’ll play a key role in enabling trusted, scalable, and interoperable data products across teams to help shape the analytics foundation that powers decision-making for SumUp’s merchant-facing products. 

What You’ll Do

• Build complex data models that accurately track product metrics and deliver trusted data marts for core business intelligence use cases.


• Ensure that all tribe data products follow dbt ownership principles and maintain high-quality standards.


• Ingest and transform data from Amazon services into Snowflake, optimizing performance and maintainability.


• Partner with Core Analytics to develop and implement robust change management processes that align KPIs with evolving business needs.


• Promote data interoperability by working across domains to define standards and integrate data for cross-tribe usage.


• Collaborate with backend and data engineers to ensure the underlying infrastructure is scalable and reliable.


• Work closely with product analysts to gather requirements and align on data priorities and delivery timelines.

You’ll Be Great for This Role If You Have:

• Strong experience designing architectural systems for complex KPIs and scalable data products.


• A solid background in data modeling and warehousing, with deep knowledge of Snowflake or equivalent platforms.


• The ability to translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.


• Hands-on experience with dbt (or similar tools), Airflow, Git, CI/CD workflows, and AWS infrastructure.


• Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, or scripting tasks.


• Familiarity with frontend tracking and integrating user behavior data into product analytics.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working within a data mesh architecture and contributing to shared data ownership across teams.
