Senior Full Stack Engineer (Platform) 

At Bayer, we are committed to transparency, equal pay for equal work or work of equal value, and objective reward practices in line with EU and local regulations. The minimum monthly gross compensation for this role is 20 240 with final pay determined based on objective factors such as experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and internal alignment.

This position is eligible for variable pay components, such as performance‑based bonuses, awarded in accordance with the applicable employee group, role scope, and compensation structure.

The Senior Full Stack Engineer (Platform)

The Senior Full Stack Engineer (Platform) is responsible for managing platforms for data analytics and AI, in addition to supporting other engineers in designing, developing and deploying data analytics products. This role involves steering external suppliers to operate platforms and products, collaborating with various stakeholders and self-sufficiently developing a strategy and roadmap for data analytics platform operations, contributing to the strategic direction of initiatives within the organization, as well as mentoring junior Engineers.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Work globally, cross domain & cross technologies to enable engineers to build and industrialize data analytics products, establishing best practices and decreasing time-to-market for data analytics solutions


• Manage data analytics platforms enabling other engineers to build, deploy and run data analytics products – including stakeholder management and strategic roadmap planning


• Support the design, development, and deployment of data analytics solutions.


• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.


• Ensure the successful integration of data analytics platforms into the EDA ecosystem and the reliable operation of the platforms.


• Conduct research to stay up to date with the latest advancements in data analytics.


• Mentor and coach junior engineers.


• Develop and maintain technical documentation.


• Recommend and implement best practices for data analytics development. 

• Collaborate with product line leads and data engineers to manage the entire lifecycle of analytical products


• Collaborate with AI Engineers in the EDA platform.


• Work with external suppliers to operate platforms and products.


• Interacts regularly with Business Users throughout the project lifecycle.


• Engages with relevant technical teams to get support throughout the development process.


• Builds relationships with stakeholders across the organization.


• Mentors junior team members and provides guidance on technical issues.

Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):

• Bachelor and/or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related technical discipline.


• Proficiency in programming languages and object-oriented design skills, application architecture and software design patterns.


• At least four years of experience in Typescript / Javascript for web application development, preferably also with Vue.js or similar Javascript frameworks.


• Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance is preferred.


• Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations (any relevant platform including Cloud)


• Experience in hosting web applications in the cloud environment, preferably AWS and Kubernetes.


• Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume of transaction applications.


• Good understanding of service-oriented architecture, webservices and APIs.


• Solid understanding of relational databases and related concepts.


• Experience with enterprise authentication mechanisms beneficial (Microsoft Entra ID / MSAL).


• Good verbal and written communication skills


• Fluent in English both written and spoken


• Strong conceptual, quantitative, problem solving and decision-making skills.


• Ability to work successfully with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
