Senior Service Sales Specialist (Substation Automation Systems)

We provide service solutions for substation automation systems, control and protection, cybersecurity, communication, and telecontrol technology. The team is highly motivated with a strong customer and service-oriented approach. It is our ambition to provide high-quality service, delivering solutions aligned with customers' needs. In this role, you are responsible for service tenders from initial customer request to contract closing and handover to operations.

As a Service Sales Specialist at Hitachi Energy, you will be part of our local Grid Automation Service Sales Team. In this role you will be responsible for driving the growth of our service offerings by identifying customer needs, developing tailored solutions, and achieving sales targets within protection, automation and communication service portfolio.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories and target markets for automation and communication service portfolio.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed individual and team sales quotas for service contracts, maintenance agreements, professional services, and other service-related solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments with potential and existing clients to understand their challenges and align Hitachi Energy service offerings as optimal solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective customers.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to secure profitable service agreements.
  • Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecast accuracy using CRM tools.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within client organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., technical support, project management, product development) to ensure seamless service delivery and address customer concerns.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands related to service offerings.
  • Provide feedback to product and service development teams based on customer insights and market intelligence.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical disciplines or similar.
  • Proven experience in sales, sales support, and/or service of power systems/solutions.
  • Experience with electric substation equipment (such as IED, RTU, SCADA, Communications, etc.) as well as recent experience in technical sales and/or presenting electric substation equipment solutions to clients is considered an asset.
  • Being familiar with the operations and maintenance practices of electric substation equipment and substation construction.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management and reporting.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
