Software Engineer in Test
Success in this position requires a solid understanding of technical solutions, a passion for a high-quality, problem-solving approach, persistence, flexibility and proactiveness in identifying opportunities. Your role will be to develop an overall system test plan & the best test strategy to ensure that Kontakt.io products are tested thoroughly to meet quality standards. We are looking for a person who is able to work independently with the ability to look at the problem from a product perspective, suggest proper solutions and then execute against them.
You will be expected to:
- Design and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test sequences for functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test cases using Python (or other scripting languages as needed), focusing on regression, sanity, and integration tests to improve testing speed and reliability.
- Identify or build appropriate tooling to complement our testing strategies.
- Execute manual test cases and accurately log defects into the bug tracking system in accordance with QA standards and best practices. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Review and analyze technical specifications and convert them into comprehensive test cases, ensuring optimal coverage and alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Communicate with the team on a daily basis to exchange insights, align on priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement in testing and quality assurance processes.
- Work cross-team to identify areas for collaboration.
- Take part in 24/7 on-call rotation
Our requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering/Computer Science or other scientific/technical discipline
- a high level of Engineering test skills coupled with persistence, stubbornness and attention to detail
- Understanding how computer software is built and how it works
- Proficiency in Python or other popular languages used in test automation
- Proficiency in using test automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, etc
- Experience setting up test pipelines from scratch
- Experience working directly with databases (SQL, noSQL)
- Experience using monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana etc to browse logs and metrics
- Experience using infrastructure management tools/portals (like AWS console or other cloud providers, Kubernetes Lens or similar)
- Ability to reconcile application behaviour with API calls, logs and database state
- Demonstrate an ability to write high-quality end-to-end functional and system test plans
- Demonstrate the ability to provide meaningful and clear test execution results
