Solutions Architect - Sportsbook

We are seeking a seasoned Sportsbook Solution Architect to join our Architecture team and play a key role in designing scalable, high-performance sports betting platforms. This role requires a strong background in sportsbook technology and operations, as well as deep architectural expertise in complex, distributed systems.

The successful candidate will work across engineering, product, infrastructure, and compliance teams to develop architectural solutions that support innovation, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced sportsbook environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve end-to-end architectural solutions across sportsbook domains such as odds feeds, trading platforms, bet placement engines, settlement services, and player risk controls.
• Champion architectural best practice across services, integrations, and data flows to ensure security, scalability, and reliability.
• Drive technical vision aligned with business goals and long-term platform evolution, particularly in support of high-volume, low-latency use cases.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure implementation aligns with architectural guidelines and business requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, lead technical discovery sessions, and help shape solution roadmaps for sportsbook capabilities.
• Define robust interfaces and integration strategies between internal modules and third-party services (e.g., odds providers, regulatory feeds, content platforms).
• Ensure seamless interaction between core sportsbook components and adjacent systems such as account management, CRM, payments, and risk tools.
• Ensure architectural designs meet regional licensing requirements (e.g., UKGC, MGA) and support responsible gambling, audit, and anti-fraud measures.
• Embed monitoring, logging, and recovery mechanisms as standard within critical sportsbook pathways.

• A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Solution Architect, with extensive background in sportsbook or iGaming environments.

• Strong domain knowledge of sportsbook functionality including: Market modelling, Betslip and bet processing, Live and pre-match pricing, Trading tools and odds adjustment workflows, Player profiling and stake control
• Expertise in designing scalable, service-oriented architectures using REST/gRPC and event-driven paradigms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Solid experience with backend technologies (e.g., Java, .net, PHP, Node.js, C#, Go) and cloud platforms (On-Prem, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with a range of data stores (SQL, NoSQL, in-memory caching layers).
• Understanding of front-end sportsbook performance considerations (e.g. streaming updates, live betslip).
• Prior involvement in platform migrations, containerisation, and IaC (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Industry certifications (AWS/GCP architecture, TOGAF) a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
