Job Description - Technical Product Owner (freelance)

Job Description & Summary

PwC Poland’s Digital& team comprises almost 400 people. We are responsible for IT projects for Polish and international clients. The number of tasks we undertake is extensive: from design, building and implementation, through preparation of functional specifications and analysis of data in source systems, to the definition of business requirements, support in testing and development of mobile applications. The department provides IT consulting services, mainly to financial institutions from Poland and abroad.

We are looking for: 

Technical Product Owner 

to join our agile development team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring the team builds solutions that meet customer and stakeholder requirements. As a result, both your business and technical skills must be outstanding. We emphasize the requirement of experience in Artificial Intelligence and highest level of digital literacy of our future Technical Product Owner, since he or she must understand the underlying technical challenges thoroughly while communicating with the development team and external stakeholders. 

As a key player in our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of high-quality software products. 

Your future role: 

  • Product development and maximizing its value using the Scrum framework, 
  • Owning and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs, 
  • Ensuring that the product is functional, technically sound, and in line with agreed standards,
  • Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements, including not only strategy and business needs but also technical aspects of the product, such as system architecture, APIs, and required infrastructure, 
  • Staying up to date and hands-on with the technical aspects of language models and GenAI solutions, including agentic workflows, RAGs, MCPs, and related LLM architecture and tooling, 
  • Identifying solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders and IT architects / Tech Leads, 
  • Creating a product development roadmap,
  • Managing the development team, budget, and relationships with our clients and internal stakeholders, 
  • Tracking and monitoring product progress at each stage of development,
  • Representing the team to stakeholders, clients, or users,
  • Propagating the vision of the product within the development team. 

Apply if you have: 

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the role of Product Owner, focusing on both business and technical aspects of IT products,
  • A good level of understanding of fundamental IT concepts (e.g., REST APIs, databases, using cloud resources and services, event-based communication), as well as the overall software development process and systems architecture (microservices, monoliths, etc.), 
  • A strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development, system architecture, or technical project management, with a solid understanding of how complex technical systems function, 
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of language models and GenAI solutions, 
  • Understanding of the application release management process, 
  • Solid practical experience working in Scrum and Kanban frameworks, 
  • Practical experience with backlog management tools (Jira / Azure DevOps), 
  • Very good communication skills in English (C1 or above),
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and soft skills - essential in day-to-day cooperation with clients and the team in an international environment, 
  • Willingness to travel for occasional business trips.

Nice to have: 

  • Product Management certification, 
  • Vibe-coding experience proven by personal projects.
