Backend Engineer (Python)

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python for production environments
  
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python for production environments
  
• Develop and deploy cloud -native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, and S3
  
• Integrate AI and foundation model services using platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, or Microsoft AI Foundry
  
• Analyse and optimise application performance through profiling, debugging, and refactoring
  
• Collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
  
• Contribute to architectural decisions, code quality standards, and best practices across the team
  

Requirements

• +5 years of experience in Backend Development with Python and experience building and operating production applications
  
• Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, EC2, S3, and their APIs
  
• Proven expertise in designing, building, and consuming GraphQL APIs
  
• Strong background in performance optimisation using Python profiling, debugging, and refactoring tools
  
• Experience with AI platform APIs (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, Microsoft AI Foundry, or similar)
  
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, or other RAG solutions is a plus
