About the role

We are seeking a proactive Backend Software Tester to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and performance of iCliGo’s products through automated testing, focusing on backend testing with Java. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues early, prevent defects, and deliver a flawless user experience to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute automated tests for backend services and APIs (REST, SOAP, and GraphQL);
• Develop and maintain API and integration test suites (functional, contract and regression);
• Identify, document, and track bugs; collaborate with developers to resolve them;
• Conduct performance, load, and reliability testing of backend systems;
• Ensure adherence to QA processes and best practices across the development lifecycle;
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA tools, frameworks, workflows and CI/CD pipelines;
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or in a similar role;
• Solid experience testing backend systems with Java (e.g., JUnit or TestNG);
• Hands-on experience testing REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, Karate);
• Good understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB) for test validation;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab);
• Strong knowledge of software test methodologies, tools, and processes;
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail;
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid/remote team.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, or k6);
• Experience with UI/E2E automation (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium) is a strong plus.
