Data Engineer (SAP BO)

Overview:

One of the biggest banks in the European Union is seeking a Data Engineer responsible for designing data schemas, modelling data structures, managing releases, performing data migrations, monitoring databases’ performance, trouble-shooting problems and supporting in all data and data infrastructure related activities.

What will you do?

• SAP BO universe creation and evolutions


• Design high-performance data pipelines.


• Implementation of user groups and restrictions on SAP BO


• Automate the end-to-end release of artifacts across environments.


• SAP BO version upgrade and SAP BO Universes migration

What are we looking for?

• University degree, or equivalent by experience, in Information Technology and/or Computer Science, Information Management, or other related fields.


• Experience in digital products deployments and third party data governance is a plus


• SAP BO knowledge (mandatory)


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in SAP platforms


• SAP Business Objects Platform upgrade active participation, including major-version migration projects (BO4 → BO5)


• Database expertise related to design proper data model and BO queries optimization


• Knowledge of SAP BO architecture and core components: Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Auditing, Promotion Management, Lifecycle Management


• Experience migrating/rebuilding a large number of complex UNV universes into UNX universes


• Ability to analyse dependencies between universes, reports, schedules, and data sources.


• Hands-on experience with SAP Business Objects Information Design Tool and full migration of SAP BusinessObjects Universe Design Tool universes to IDT. Proven ability to rebuild and migrate; tables, columns, joins, contexts, aliases, derived tables, parameters, security profiles


• Knowledge of SAP BO security: users, groups, roles, entitlements, row-level security, object-level security, folder security, access profiles


•  Experience performing: functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, security validation, report validation


• Active participation installing and configuring SAP BO on enterprise Linux environment


• Knowledge in implementing a brand-new SAP BO architecture on new Linux servers (expertise in Linux is needed)


• Experience migrating and reconfiguring SAP BO connections across multiple database technologies including:


• Knowledge of SAP BO backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies, SAP BO performance tuning, sizing, and optimization.


• Proven experience in large enterprise SAP BI environments with hundreds/thousands of reports and users.


• Database management (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata..)


• IT Languages: Python


• Data Visualization blending analytics, e.g. Power BI, Alteryx, Dataiku


• OS Knowledge: Linux


• Fluent in English.


• Knowledge in French.
