Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Enrolled Nurse to join the Specialist Clinics team.


 


 


Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.


 


Services are provided through our six main campuses:


Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.


 


 


About the Role:


 


Under the support and supervision of the registered nursing team - The Enrolled Nurse in Specialist Clinics is responsible for:


 


 


 



  • Clinical Support & Coordination: Assisting with the safe and efficient delivery of outpatient services across all medical and surgical disciplines. Coordinating patient flow to ensure timely appointments and minimal delays. Supporting clinicians during consultations, procedures, and treatments.

  • Patient Care & Advocacy: Providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in line with best practice standards. Acting as a key point of contact for patients and families, offering education and reassurance. Ensuring cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in all patient interactions.

  • Operational Efficiency: Supporting appointment scheduling and liaising with nursing and  administrative staff to optimise clinic operations. Monitoring and maintaining clinical equipment and supplies. Supporting infection prevention and control measures across clinics.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including CNC, RN, doctors, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. Assisting in orientation and mentoring of junior nursing staff and other Enrolled nurses.

  • Quality & Safety: Adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and accreditation standards. Participating in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management activities. Reporting and escalating clinical concerns promptly to ensure patient safety.


 


 


To be successful in this role you will have:


 



  • Clinical Expertise: Experience and sound working knowledge of medical, and surgical nursing practices; knowledge of specialist clinics is desirable

  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Organisational Skills: Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands in a busy clinical setting.

  • Communication Skills: Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to work across all campuses as required, supporting service delivery wherever needed.
