Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Nelas, Viseu, Portugal
Reports to: Finnancial Director


Department: Finance & Administrative


 


The Finance Manager will be responsible to ensure effective financial management of the industrial unit by delivering reliable financial and management information, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and group requirements, overseeing budgeting, cost control, treasury, credit, and financial operations, while supporting profitability, business growth, and strategic decision-making.



Responsibilities


Financial Management & Control



  • Oversee all financial activities of the industrial unit, including accounting, treasury, taxation, credit control, and management controlling.

  • Ensure compliance with Group financial policies, accounting standards, and internal procedures.

  • Lead the preparation, monitoring, and periodic review of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

  • Ensure accurate cost allocation and monitor budget variances, proposing corrective actions where required.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.


Treasury, Cash Flow & Financing



  • Manage daily treasury operations, ensuring adequate liquidity and efficient cash management.

  • Prepare and monitor short-, medium-, and long-term cash flow forecasts.

  • Execute and control payments to suppliers, employees, tax authorities, and other entities.

  • Monitor bank balances, perform bank reconciliations, and optimize cash positioning.

  • Manage short-term financing facilities, including Confirming, Factoring, FOI, DOI, and other banking products.

  • Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.

  • Support investment appraisals and financing processes related to CAPEX and OPEX.

  • Ensure accurate accounting records for treasury, financing, and banking transactions.


Credit Management & Collections



  • Manage customer credit exposure, ensuring compliance with the company's credit policy.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable cycles.

  • Coordinate collection activities and debt recovery processes.

  • Validate invoices for factoring operations and manage weekly submission files.

  • Monitor factoring positions and communicate incoming receipts.

  • Support legal advisors in litigation and debt recovery cases.


Performance Analysis & Reporting



  • Monitor, analyze, and report key financial performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Produce regular financial and management reports for local and corporate management.

  • Analyze financial performance, identifying risks, variances, and improvement opportunities.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.

  • Support senior management in defining actions to improve profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

  • Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all legal, tax, regulatory, and statutory obligations.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits.

  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, banks, insurers, and other financial partners.

  • Ensure adherence to Group internal control procedures and governance standards.

  • Support the management of the company's insurance portfolio and other financial risk mitigation activities.


Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement



  • Lead, coach, and develop the local Finance team.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization.

  • Ensure effective collaboration between Finance and other departments, including Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, HR, and Legal.

  • Act as the main liaison between the industrial unit and the Corporate Finance Department.

  • Support cross-functional and strategic business projects whenever required.



Profile



  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in Finance, with at least 3 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

  • Proven experience in financial management, treasury, controlling, budgeting, and financial reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, management control, cash flow management, and credit risk.

  • Experience managing financing operations, banking relationships, and working capital.

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (Business Central preferred) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • High level of autonomy, accuracy, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are considered an advantage.
