French-Speaking Accounting Controller

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical French-Speaking Accounting Controller to join our finance team in Porto. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting background who are passionate about financial accuracy, reporting, and process improvement.

As an Accounting Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of financial information, supporting reporting activities, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Please note: Candidates must already be based in Porto or the surrounding area, as this position follows a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accounting control activities and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and accounting analyses.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Monitor accounting transactions and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and finance teams across different business units.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
• Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Fluent French (B2 level or above) and good English communication skills.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in Accounting, Financial Control, Audit, or a similar finance-related role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
• Must already be residing in Porto or nearby areas.
