ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for a HR Analyst / Controller to provide support to our HR team on all matters relating to HR cost controlling (data, systems, processes, and reporting).

A key part of the role is to be the custodian of all HR cost data, being the bridge between HR and Finance in relation to our global HR cost data. This role involves managing the budget and actual costs related to HR for Portugal (and potentially other European countries) within the organization.

This role will be based in our Head Office in Alfragide.

The HR analyst will be reporting to the HR Manager (with close interaction with the HR Director) and will also be required to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the HR Team, and colleagues and managers across the organisation.

Experience required: The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years as a data analyst, strong analytical skills, and a proactive and collaborative approach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Budget and Forecast Process:

  • Input and submit HR cost budget for the Portugal (and Northern Europe) Region.
  • Coordinate global submissions and prepare variance reports.
  • Analyze HR costs centrally and provide consolidated budget reports with commentary.
  • Monthly HR Actual Process

  • Manage monthly HR actual closing for the Portugal (and Northern Europe) Region.
  • Report any discrepancies to the HR Director and make necessary accruals/reversals.
  • Ensure accurate reporting.
  • Identify variances in HR actual costs and reconcile with finance system.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis to identify areas for improvement and making recommendations based on findings.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Continuously enhance HR cost controlling processes and reporting.
  • Provide advice, training, and support on HR cost controlling system and reporting.
  • Support implementation of HR tools and projects.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time by the HR Manager.
  • Collaborate with the HR managers to develop strategies and action plans based on data-driven insights.
  • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Background in a relevant field (e.g., data science, mathematics, statistics, finance)
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data management and reporting
  • Willingness to examine the status quo and resilient in the face of challenges
  • Ability to interpret and manipulate Management information, draw insights from data, and provide usable and meaningful output.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • An effective team player with a supportive and collaborative approach
  • Strong communication to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Acts with honesty, integrity and discretion, demonstrating awareness of impact of sensitive HR issues
  • Upper-intermediate English proficiency
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels, displaying professionalism and credibility.
