We are looking for an experienced ICT Functional Analyst to join a cross-functional Agile product team working on business-critical digital solutions within the European energy sector.
You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of applications supporting gas flow management, commercial operations, network balancing, contracting, billing, reporting and regulatory compliance.
This role requires someone who can bridge business needs and technical solutions, challenge requirements, collaborate closely with developers and take ownership throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyse and challenge business requirements through stakeholder interviews and workshops.
Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories and conceptual models.
Create and maintain process models, use case diagrams, activity diagrams and information models.
Collaborate with developers, Product Owners and business stakeholders to deliver functional solutions.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement and sprint planning.
Design and execute functional tests and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Investigate production issues, handle business requests and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support product evolution, regulatory changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Non-Negotiable Requirements (Must Have)
Candidates must meet all the following requirements:
Functional Analysis: Proven professional experience in IT Functional Analysis or Business Analysis, translating business requirements into technical and functional specifications.
UML & BPMN: Hands-on experience with process modelling, use cases and activity diagrams.
SQL: Good knowledge of relational databases and the ability to write and understand SQL queries.
Agile: Practical experience working in Agile software development environments, collaborating directly with developers and cross-functional product teams.
End-to-End Analysis: Experience with requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, user stories, functional testing and UAT.
Languages: Fluency in both Portuguese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Hybrid Availability: Ability to work onsite in Lisbon 2 days per week.
Please note: Candidates who do not meet these mandatory requirements will not be considered.
Nice to Have
Previous experience in the energy, utilities or gas transmission sector.
Knowledge of gas flow management, network balancing, billing or regulatory processes.
Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect, Confluence, Azure DevOps or Jira.
Familiarity with Scrum, SAFe, LeSS or similar Agile frameworks.
Knowledge of French or Dutch.
Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field.
The Profile We're Looking For
Beyond technical expertise, we value someone who:
Thinks critically and challenges requirements rather than simply documenting them.
Takes ownership and is accountable for delivery quality.
Communicates confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Is proactive, curious and comfortable navigating complex business environments.
Values collaboration, continuous improvement and long-term product quality.
Interested?
If you meet the mandatory requirements and are looking for a challenging opportunity in a complex, international technology environment, we'd love to hear from you.
