OT Engineer

Hiire is helping one of its clients to hire an OT Engineer to support the operations of a new factory in northern Portugal.

What You'll Do

Support and Optimize OT Systems:

• Maintain and improve OT systems, including MES subsystems like OEE, Recipe System, and Historian System;




• Troubleshoot and resolve OT issues to ensure uninterrupted production;




• Configure and manage HMI, switches, and OT domains;

Drive Digital Transformation:

• Support the implementation of new technologies and digitalization initiatives.




• Participate in global and local OT projects, driving innovation and efficiency.




• Monitor data to ensure system performance and reliability.

Collaborate and Train:

• Work with production teams and process engineers to enhance OT processes;




• Conduct training sessions on OT systems for team members and users;




• Manage and document project updates, integrating OT improvements into operations.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Electrical, Automation, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience);




• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing-related OT roles;




• Hands-on experience with MES subsystems and industrial control systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC);




• Knowledge of networks, switches, routers, and Active Directory;




• SQL and HTML5 knowledge, with a focus on software validation;




• English proficiency (B2 or above).

It would be a plus if you have:

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST);




• Experience with Rockwell/Omron/Siemens PLC systems;




• Knowledge of ThingWorx, Thin Manager, Visual Basic, and vSphere/Hyper-V;




• CCNA certification (or willingness to obtain).
