Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced senior clinical psychologist to join the Psychology Clinical Educator team within the Mental Health Division.  




 


 




Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. 




 





Services are provided through our six main campuses: 




Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. 




 


 


About Mental Health Division:


 



Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.


 


Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

About the Role:

The Mental Health Division at Northern Health delivers comprehensive Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Services across Melbourne’s north-west and northern regions.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Psychologist to join our Psychology Education Team within the Mental Health Division. 


 


This role offers the chance to play a pivotal leadership role in supporting early career psychologists and postgraduate psychology students to develop their clinical capabilities within a positive, collaborative, and recovery-oriented environment. 




 


This role is responsible for working closely with the Principal Psychology Educator, to contribute to the planning, development, implementation and delivery of high-quality supervision, education, and professional development initiatives across the Mental Health Division. The role also provides opportunities to lead and support key workforce development programs, including: 


 






  • Postgraduate Student Placements  








  • Psychology Registrar Programs  








  • Prequalification pathways  








  • Clinical supervision and professional capability development  








  • All of workforce education and training  








  • Contributing to the Staff Incident Support and Wellbeing program.  






 


You will be part of a dedicated team focused on strengthening psychology practice, enhancing workforce capability, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding consumer-centred care. 


 


The role also offers opportunities to collaborate across disciplines to design and implement innovative education initiatives for the broader mental health workforce. 




 


 


About You:


To be successful in this role you will have:


 






  • Extensive clinical experience (8+ years) within public mental health settings providing evidence based clinical treatment and care to consumers and carers. 








  • Experience and good working knowledge of Psychology Board of Australia competencies and code of code including the requirements for clinical supervision. 








  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative and innovative way to interdisciplinary practice and workforce development  










  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering education, training, and workforce development programs for psychologists across varying levels of experience  








  • Strong knowledge of mental health presentations, evidence-based interventions, and recovery-oriented practice  








  • Current AHPRA registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009  








  • Psychology Board Approved Supervisor status  








  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
