Senior Backend Developer

As a Senior Back-end Developer at Rovo Assembly you will be responsible for leading the architecture and development of reliable, scalable, and high-performance services. You will help drive backend initiatives and contribute to the evolution of our service-oriented and distributed systems. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, advocate for backend best practices, and help drive the evolution of our platform’s backend architecture.

• Architect and implement secure, scalable, and reliable distributed systems and APIs
• Design service-oriented architectures that enable performance, fault tolerance, and long-term maintainability
• Drive technical planning and architectural decisions with an eye toward growth and system evolution

Backend Development & Operations

• Develop high-performance services using Node.js, TypeScript, and related backend technologies
• Ensure all services are well-tested, monitored, documented, and optimized for performance and resilience
• Lead backend initiatives from concept to deployment, with a focus on quality and reliability

Security & Technical Standards

• Implement backend security best practices (e.g. CORS, CSRF, OWASP) to safeguard services and user data
• Define and enforce coding standards, documentation practices, and review processes across the backend team
• Continuously identify technical debt and scalability issues and propose actionable solutions

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to align technical efforts with business needs
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to team growth

Must-have

• 8+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on scalable, service-oriented architectures
• Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and distributed systems design
• Strong knowledge of API design, backend performance optimization, and system observability
• Deep understanding of security best practices in backend development
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams

Nice to have

• Experience working with Headless CMS or content-heavy platforms
• Background in experimentation-heavy environments or A/B testing infrastructure
• Familiarity with cloud-native services and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Prior experience in fast-paced product or e-commerce teams
