Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist – Therapy Lead at Noogal Clinic, Mill Park.


 


Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.


Services are provided through our six main campuses:


Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.


 



About Mental Health Division:




Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.


Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.


We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

About the Role:


The Senior Clinical Psychologist provides leadership in psychotherapeutic practice within the Noogal Community Mental Health Team and across Northern Health Mental Health Services.


Working closely with the Therapy Coordinator and Principal Lead Clinical Psychologist, the role supports the development of a strong psychotherapeutic culture through clinical leadership, specialist psychological treatment, supervision of psychologists and psychology registrars, and service development initiatives.


The position also contributes to clinical consultation, education and multidisciplinary forums to enhance psychotherapeutic practice across the service.


While primarily based at Noogal, the role may provide support across other Northern Health sites as required.


 


To be successful in this role you will have:



  • Extensive experience and advanced knowledge in public mental health, including the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality clinical leadership through effective multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical decision-making, supervision, mentoring, service development and quality improvement activities.

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice, professional development, clinical governance and building effective partnerships with consumers, carers and stakeholders.
