Descrição do Emprego - Senior Data Engineer

With the rise of digitization, data is becoming a key priority in the future of Swiss Post. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platforms Team and take ownership of building and optimizing scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be developing high-performance data solutions that support decision-making and analytics at scale.

What you'll do
As part of a DevOps team, you will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining our AWS-based data infrastructure and pipelines.

In this role, you will:
− Develop scalable and reusable solutions that can be applied across multiple teams, enhancing efficiency and consistency while benefiting the existing data engineering community.
− Implement and optimize large-scale Spark ETL pipelines for efficient data processing.
− Collaborate with other data engineers and architects to define and implement scalable and efficient data infrastructure solutions.
− Automate processes and continuously improve the development and deployment stack.
− Ensure smooth operations by troubleshooting and resolving issues in data workflows.What you bring with you
− Strong expertise in data engineering with deep knowledge of Apache Spark, SQL, and Python or Scala.
− Profound experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines in production environments.
− Familiarity with AWS analytics services (such as Glue, SageMaker, Athena, Lambda, Batch) or similar Cloud-based platforms.
− Understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
− Proven experience collaborating across teams to design and implement effective data solutions.
− Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.

Education
− You have completed a higher degree in computer science or business informatics (university of applied sciences).

− English oral and written
