Function Description / Professional Tasks
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database (Oracle) to join our infrastructure operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, operating, and maintaining enterprise database platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.
You will work with modern engineered systems and cloud environments, supporting mission-critical Oracle landscapes across on-prem and cloud platforms.
What You Can Do
− Plan and monitor database usage and capacity
− Implement, maintain, and operate databases, including cross-platform and distributed environments
− Monitor data integrity, database processes, objects, and reports
− Manage database objects (tablespaces, tables, indexes)
− Prepare and execute backup, reorganization, and recovery procedures
− Troubleshoot irregularities in database operations
− Repair faulty databases and perform restore activities
− Implement CIS benchmarks and security best practices
− Support platform migrations, expansions, and lifecycle activities
− Create and manage service requests with Oracle
− Participate in on-call rotation to ensure platform reliability
Personal Skills and Education
What You Bring:
− Senior-level experience as an Oracle Database Engineer / DBA
− Strong focus on infrastructure operations
− Solid experience with enterprise database environments
− Structured, independent, and reliability-focused mindset
− Willingness to participate in on-call duty
− Troubleshooting complex Oracle environments (nice to have)
− Database security and CIS benchmark implementation (nice to have)
− Oracle licensing knowledge (advantageous)
Technical Stack
− Oracle Core: Oracle RDBMS, Oracle RMAN (backup & restore), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle APEX;
− Engineered Systems & Infrastructure: Oracle Exadata (ExaCC), Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance ZS11-2, EXACC platform operations (OL, VM Cluster, ASM, DB patching), Resource management and dynamic scaling on EXACC, Migration and platform expansion;
− Cloud & Platforms: Oracle@AWS, AWS and/or Azure (advantageous), Universal Cloud Credit (UCC) management
Education
− University/technical college degree in computer science or comparable.
Language Skills
− English oral and written
− Optional: German oral (and written)
Additional Comments
− Willingness to travel
− Hybrid Model: One day a week @office (mandatory)
