Mobility Management, Turnkey Projects & Electrification, Mainline Transport, Urban Transport and Customer Services have the know-how to make road traffic flow more efficiently and quickly, make trains more environmentally friendly and efficient, make schedules and freight shipments more reliable. 

We are looking for a Senior Signalling Designer Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Engineering Team!


Your role: 
The Application Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of Trackside Signalling Systems for Main Line and Mass Transit Worldwide Mobility projects. This role involves elaborating the specific design for customer projects based on the project requirements. The engineer will develop technical specifications, define project hardware architecture, manuals and hardware layouts, establish testing and commissioning procedures, manage and support other engineering teams, and collaborate with stakeholders, partners and customers regarding project-specific topics.


You will also be responsible for:
- Management and traceability of requirements along the project life cycle.

- Designing specific hardware for projects according to customer, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety requirements with the best quality-cost solution.

- Implementing, testing and commissioning complex hardware solutions.

- Providing customer training.

- Providing mentoring and coaching to a heterogeneous group of System Engineers working in different projects and disciplines.

- Providing support to the installation and maintenance works.

- Collaborating in Planning and Management for project activities.

- Attending technical meetings with partners, customer or other companies.

- Managing works in multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that goals, objectives, and timelines, are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.

- Ensuring design, implementation, tests and commissioning, meet project requirements including formal review meetings, communicating project status, identifying and reporting any possible risk.

- Communicating and collaborating with other engineering areas and Mobility departments.

- Proactively identifying areas of innovation, opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.


We're looking for someone who has:  
- University or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar. 

- Work experience in a similar function.

- Knowledge or work experience in railway or industrial systems and technologies is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to foster effective work in a cross-functional, multinational and diverse environment.

- Continuous improvement mind-set as a must.

- Goal driven with customer orientation and team leadership. 

- Willingness to travel worldwide when required (about 10% of total working time).

- Experience in the following technologies and fields of knowledge are a plus:

- Requirements management and systems engineering (tools type DOORS, Reqtify or similar).

- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Microstation.

- Application of RAMS requirements during the development of projects.

- Knowledge in CENELEC (or similar standards) product development lifecycle and in railway signalling systems and technology.

- Specific knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Interlocking systems.

- Knowledge and experience in electrical wiring, assemblies and cabinets designs and in developing any programming language and environment for process automation.
