Right now, we are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect - Cloud (Pre -Sales) to integrate our internal team, based in Lisbon/Porto.



Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead discovery sessions and needs assessments with client technical teams and decision -makers (CTO, CIO, CISO);
  • Design hybrid cloud and private cloud architectures, primarily VMware -based, integrated with Azure or AWS where applicable;
  • Develop managed services proposals (ITIL, SLA, NOC) and cloud adoption roadmaps aligned with client business objectives;
  • Respond to RFPs and build compelling technical and commercial proposals, including TCO and ROI analysis;
  • Present and defend solutions in front of client stakeholders, alongside an Account Manager or Business Developer;
  • Ensure solutions address security, compliance, and data sovereignty requirements (GDPR, NIS2, Data Residency);
  • Collaborate with Sales, Delivery, and Operations teams throughout the opportunity lifecycle;
  • Represent Claranet at client workshops, technical events, and community initiatives.

 

You must have:

  • 6+ years in solution architecture, technical pre -sales, or a hybrid of both — at an MSP, systems integrator, or technology vendor;
  • Proven track record of client -facing work: discovery, solution design, proposal writing, and solution advocacy;
  • Experience with RFP responses and the full opportunity lifecycle from qualification through to contract;
  • Private cloud infrastructure: VMware (vSphere, vSAN, NSX) or equivalent hypervisor platforms (Nutanix, Hyper -V, OpenStack) — design and architecture level, not purely operational;
  • Public cloud: Azure (primary) and/or AWS — architecture, landing zones, hybrid connectivity;
  • Managed services design: ITIL frameworks, SLA modelling, NOC/SOC service structures;
  • Security and compliance: GDPR, NIS2, data residency, and sovereignty requirements;
  • Commercial acumen: TCO, ROI, and business case development as part of the proposal process.
  • Candidates without client -facing or pre -sales experience will not be considered for this position.

We value:

  • Certifications: 
  - VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure (Associate or Architect level), or AWS equivalent — at least one active certification is expected;                                                                                       
- Additional certifications (ITIL, security, FinOps) are a plus but not required;
  • Executive communication  - ability to adapt the technical narrative to a C -level audience without losing substance;
  • Structured thinking - comfort with ambiguity, able to shape a solution from an incomplete brief;
  • Collaborative mindset - you work with Sales, not instead of Sales;
  • Curiosity around IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and FinOps - willingness to grow in these areas is valued over existing mastery;
  • Participation in technical communities, events, or content creation.
