The first Awfaz Global School was founded in 2009 and offers an outstanding British-style education to children in the local community. We have 3 campuses across Doha with around 1,500 students. We cater for all nationalities; however, the majority of our students are Qatari Nationals. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and forward-thinking Head of Secondary to join our leadership team for August 2026.
The successful candidate will lead the Secondary School with a strong focus on academic achievement, student wellbeing, staff development, and the continued growth of our British curriculum pathway, including IGCSE and A Level provision.
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop the Secondary School in alignment with the school’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.
Oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of the British Curriculum, including Key Stage 3, IGCSE, AS, and A Level programmes.
Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and academic achievement across all secondary phases.
Support and monitor curriculum planning, data analysis, student progress tracking, and intervention strategies.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and professional growth amongst staff.
Lead and support Heads of Department to maximise departmental performance and student outcomes.
Oversee pastoral care, safeguarding, behaviour management, and student wellbeing within the Secondary School.
Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
Contribute to school improvement planning, accreditation processes, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.
Support the continued development and expansion of the school’s A Level pathways and university readiness initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a British Curriculum school.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with the British Curriculum, including IGCSE and AS/A Level programmes.
Experience leading academic improvement initiatives and achieving strong examination outcomes.
Excellent understanding of curriculum development, assessment practices, and secondary school operations.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Experience in school inspections, accreditation processes, and quality assurance frameworks is preferred.
A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and creating a positive learning environment.
An excellent educator with the ability to model outstanding teaching and learning practices.
