Job Description - Consultant - Nuclear Medicine

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant in Nuclear Medicine to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to provide high-quality patient care, perform advanced diagnostic procedures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services. This role requires a blend of clinical excellence, leadership, and collaborative skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in the handling and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental protocols and policies.
  • Provide education and training to medical staff, students, and residents on nuclear medicine techniques and safety.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in nuclear medicine and integrate new technologies and methodologies into practice.
  • Contribute to clinical research projects and support evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging techniques.
  • Proficient in the interpretation of nuclear medicine scans and the use of associated equipment.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in the field.

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant or Senior Specialist in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Proven track record of performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Experience in a teaching or mentoring role is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated involvement in clinical research and publications is a plus.

Education

  • General Medicine degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine or related subspecialty.
  • Valid medical license to practice as a consultant in Nuclear Medicine.
