Overview

***This position is physically located in Qatar in support of LOGCAP***

Serves as the Certified Electrician Supervisor for all Electrical maintenance to include Electrical Control Panels. Must be able to: wire up, install, troubleshoot, and test electrical control panels to engineering drawings and specifications. Responsible for: The electrical control panels maintenance and repairs ensuring compliance in accordance to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), SOP’s & IOP’s. Provides the Public Works and Facilities Maintenance Manger with accurate data and information concerning all electrical matters. Provides feedback relating to open, closed and over-30 day work orders to the Public Works Manager.

Additional Duty : Will perform other duties as assigned.

• Follows oral or written instructions from the Public Works Manager
• Interprets engineering drawings, plans and electrical control systems
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
• Assists with material requisition for electrical components
• Observes all safety programs and safety practices
• Maintains a safe and clean work area
• Performs work, promotes teamwork, and communicates in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards
• Compile accurate and concise reports of work performed
• Effective construction, start-up, and commissioning techniques of control panel systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to use multi-meters and other electrical test equipment - excellent soldering, wiring and assembly skills is a plus.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
  • College degreed preferred but no required.
  • Must have a current Certified Electrician license for AN candidate
  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' as a Certified Electrician.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Lead, Supervisor, or manager
• Experience:
  • Knowledge of maintenance, materials, departmental organizational structure, policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of English comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and typing.
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized. Must have computer system administrative experience, should have experience in procedural development as well.
• Skills:
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Work environment is often fast paced and at times requires exposure to high heat and humidity.
• Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the Supervision of all OCN (Other Country National) Electrical Technicians
  • Supervised all electricians on the project and serves as subject matter expert for electrical maintenance.
• Other Requirements:
  • This position works both indoors and outdoors and should expect to work in conditions of extreme heat and extreme dust (e.g. - dust storms, humidity, etc). Normal work week is 48 hours (6 days a week, 8 hours a day). Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires. Must be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Will be working different shifts.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

• Working Conditions:

  • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.

  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
