As Purchase Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a supply strategy that improves productivity, efficiency and reduce costs while securing high quality material for their company.

MAIN MISSIONS:

COMPLIANCE

1.1. Ensure compliance with the local laws and standards with regards to purchase activities.

1.2. Monitor the performance of Purchase Management System and report discrepancies or suggestions to IT department.

1.3. Adhere to company’s Administration Manual and other policies and procedures.

1.4. Find out, suggest, introduce and thereby market suitable products and brands to the operations, maintaining a fine balance between cost effectiveness and client satisfaction.

1.5. Carry out price analysis, market surveys to find out market fluctuations and product availability.

1.6. Co-ordinate with other departments for finalization of requirements and execution.

1.7. Conduct periodical tenders for the supply of regular items and selecting the suitable supplier for food and cleaning items, small equipment and asset purchase.

1.8. Monitor performance of suppliers in terms of product quality, timely dispatch and other supports.

1.9. Monitor departmental activities like stock management, storage and execution of location delivery of items as per scheduled plan.

1.10. Manage the vehicle fleet of the company, its movement and maintenance.

1.11. Adhere to and promote the use of all systems, software and policies of the company.

1.12. Promote alternative products and innovation generating savings and added value to operations

1.13. Comply with standards within the supplier portfolio in term of sourcing practices, social responsibility and any other business practices.

1.14. Create and manage positive relationships with suppliers in order to develop win-win approach and partnership mindset.

PEOPLE

2.1. Identify training needs of staff and co-ordinate with HRD to arrange proper training.

2.2. Conduct periodical visits to the locations to receive feed back on the quality of items supplied.

2.3. Maintain a pleasant and professional working relationship with all his superiors, peers and external contacts.

2.4. Propose the most effective organization of the department to deliver the expected results and review it timely for optimization

2.5.Identify and promote talents from the team

QHSE

3.1. Ensure that purchasing/CWH activities meet and integrate with company’s requirement for quality management, health and safety, legal provisions and environmental issues.

3.2. Ensure that proper procedures are in place to provide safe and healthy work environment to purchasing/CWH staff.

3.3. Ensure implementation of Quality System and Administration Manual requirements.

Management

4.1. Report to the management regarding market trends on a regular basis.

4.2. Assist Commercial Manager during tendering and negotiations with clients.

4.3. Adhere to and deliver monthly reports to Country and Region Management teams

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years’ experience in a Purchase / supply chain role with minimum 05 years’ experience in a managerial capacity in a
  • Catering / food industry, ideally being in a high-volume catering warehouse atmosphere.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Warehousing Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or any other Equivalent degree
  • Certified in Quality and Food Safety Systems, HACCP trainings etc.
  • Strong decision making, organizing, prioritizing and problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and customer service skills as this role calls for managing a team of 50 + staff
  • Ability to leverage data to identify trends and drive decisions
  • Ability to manage the departmental budgets, P&L statements and prepare related management reports.
  • People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • A team player and a proactive leader with ability to solve critical issues independently
  • Positive attitude towards local environment, multinational & multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English, Arabic spoken is plus.
  • Knowledge of Middle East Region is a plus.
  • Experienced in software management such as Warehouse Management System/ Purchase Management System.
  • Experience in international logistic (sea and air) , incoterm, custom document clearance process
