Yesterday BH- Commercial Analyst

Qatar based Oil and Gas client is looking to hire a Commercial Analyst to work alongside the Commercial Manager. The incumbent will support the shipping team to deliver an expanded, efficient and flexible fleet that effectively meets the shipping demand resulting from the project.

Responsibilities 1. This is role is responsible for conducting analysis under complex fiscal rules requiring strong economic modelling and evaluation skills to ensure the demands of the Shipping Project are met.


2. Major challenges of this role include operating in a complex and dynamic market with significant time pressures and ensuring commercial analysis to support the suitability of the expanded fleet to deliver the LNG to destinations worldwide.


3. Work across all project stakeholders including managers and technical staff from the project team and other shareholders to ensure buy-in and support of all major factors of the fleet expansion effort.


4. Support all analytical work associated with the vessel acquisition effort for the project, existing vessel replacements and other initiatives. To inform and support all vessel acquisition decisions, provide supporting analysis process that provides long-term shipping cost projections for the fleet. The analysis must cover variables such as ship size, fuel consumption, trade patterns, synergies across multiple production sources.


5. Maintain and update information databases to ensure accuracy and relevance of data to assist in economic analysis as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree preferably in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering, Engineering or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the industry, preferably in the energy shipping sector.
• Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of financial analysis and economic concepts.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards as they relate to the oil and gas industry and the marine environment
