Duty Manager Freighter Charter Operations

About the role

You will be responsible for the operational arrangements for freighter charter operations globally. Acts immediately after a charter contract is signed and plans ahead to ensure all parties are informed and have clear instructions to enable safe charter operations and followup with all parties to ensure the requested tasks are carried out. Manages freighter and cargo operations related decisions with regards to charters. Accountable for the planning of cargo charter flights with emphasis on Freighter charters to ensure safe operations and guarantee that cargo flies as booked. Responsible to keep track of live charter operations and provide support to network stations during live operations 24/7.


Other key responsibilities are:

Operational

• Implement strategies for charters to operate safe secure ontime and with planned payload.

• Provide suggestions for recovery plans for irregular operations ensuring robust solutions are implemented to achieve the optimal outcome considering the economical and operational impact.

• Plan for local operating procedures together with offline and online stations to ensure safe and secure handling of flights and cargo

• Find the optimum way to perform the charter flight in relation to fuel uplift groundhandling routing load planning ground support and crewing.

• Act as a focal point for charter operations. Track the live charter flights and ground operations and provide updates to key internal/external stakeholders in relation to progress of cargo logistics and flight.

• Request security approvals from corporate security and implement security mitigation processes on the ground

• Design reports and decisionmaking tools to support all charter related stakeholders to effectively monitor operations track KPIs (e.g. on time performance irregularities response time) and take data driven decisions.

• Formulate guidance checklist that will constantly ensure all aspects of operational areas are considered in the decisionmaking process by all involved in the charter operation.

• Improve and develop the operations requirements and ensure the processes are amended and updated in the Cargo manuals and published.

• Formulate plans to protect cargo and schedule integrity based on cargo volume connections and revenue impact.

• Reviews aircraft technical requirements for each charter and instructs Network Planning and QR Technical to plan the correct aircraft for the charter

Qualifications

About You

• Minimum qualification of bachelors degree or relevant college or university qualification is essential.

• 5 years of jobrelated experience (Preferred Duty Manager role)

• IOC/OCC experience

• Situation analysis and problemsolving skills. Critical thinking and decisionmaking skills.

• Effective communications and negotiation skills.

• Managerial skills ability to delegate work set clear direction and manage workflow

• Understanding of key stakeholder functions including GHAs network stations cargo operations IOC crew control flight dispatch network planning
