Job Description - Retail Operations Manager

Job Summary: As Retail Operations Manager you will be responsible for maximizing sales and profit through the delivery of world class customer service and effective merchandising. You will manage the retail operations in accordance with company policy. You will have the overall responsibility for sales customer service marketing and promotions merchandising & stock control.

  • Key accountabilities are as follows:
    • Development of new business opportunities.
    • Manage overall retail operations at the airport with the aim of achieving the yearly sales budget.
    • Manage shop layout including merchandising layouts etc.
    • Oversee day to day operational issues and ensure quick resolution.
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with staff and other stakeholders.
    • Oversee the implementation of scheduled stock counts in conjunction with stock control to provide accurate records and minimize stock issues.
    • Manage and ensure sufficient control measures are in place to secure both stock and cash at the shops stores and warehouses.
    • Oversee warehouse operations ensuring smooth and speedy movement of stocks into and out of the stores.

About You: To be successful in this role you should hold minimum 10 years experience with at least 7 years in similar operations such as fast moving consumer goods or luxury brands. Management experience within the travel retail industry is highly preferred. You must be sales focused with a broad retail background including purchasing store operations marketing and promotions.

You should have an in depth knowledge of key concepts such as margins pricing retail IT systems merchandising in store stock layouts price ticketing warehouse/store logistics passenger traffic trends customer service standards promotions and new business developments. Management skills with the ability to implement strategic decisions and foster team work are essential prerequisites for this role.
