Summary

Candidate will be the Director Histocompatibility, Immunogenetics & Immunology.
Responsible to provide clinical histocompatibility testing and immunologic monitoring for solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Education/Qualifications Required:

Basic medical degree from recognized institution
Post-qualification certification
Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
USA: The American Board of Pathology (AB Path)
Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPS)
UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

Minimum One (1) year of experience post board certification as a Senior Consultant or
Minimum Six (6) year of experience post board certification as a Consultant
Advanced training and experience in transplant immunology
Advanced training and experience in clinical lab immunology
Track record of scholarship (publications, presentations, etc.)

License:

Valid and in a good standing Medical License in current country of practice

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine and talk to a range of patients, using diagnostic skills to determine what tests need to be carried out.
• Supports and advise clinical staff to help them choose the correct tests.
• Work alongside healthcare scientists while they complete laboratory tests.
• Educates colleagues in the use and limitations of each diagnostic investigation.
• Provide advice and interpretation of test results and the appropriateness of further investigations.
• Undertake managerial responsibilities, such as planning the workload and staffing of the department, especially at more senior levels.
• Supervise and teach junior medical staff, depending on your post.
• Carry out research and keep up to date with new information relevant to your field.
