Chief Steward

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is looking for a Chief Steward to be part of their team at Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach in Doha, Qatar.

Role Overview:

The Chief Steward's main responsibility is to ensure that equipment, food processing facilities, storage areas, walk-in fridges, corridors, and other assigned spaces are always kept clean and hygienic according to set standards.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Address concerns raised by employees and guests effectively.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain personal grooming and appearance according to company standards.
• Ensure compliance with hotel standards and regulations to promote safety and smooth operations.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate and meet guest and operational needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Willingness to cross-train in various hotel departments.
• Show initiative in identifying and implementing solutions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervise evening stewards and ensure proper utensil sanitation and storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in kitchens, storage areas, hallways, and equipment.
• Operate dishwashing equipment ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation of all items.
• Report any equipment issues to management promptly.
• Follow all safety and sanitation standards diligently.
• Prepare daily route sheets.

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent, experience in a related field is a plus.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible and long hours occasionally.
• Capable of standing for the entire shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
