Clinical Nurse "Job Details"Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Nurse is responsible for competently providing safe and effective direct care. The Clinical Nurse assesses care needs, plans, implements and evaluates programs of care to include patients and families. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard, aligned to Sidra Standards of Practice. The Clinical Nurse participates in the supervision, orientation and training of staff and is responsible for education of patients, families and students. The Clinical Nurse is professionally accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTION CRITERIA Education:ESSENTIAL:Bachelor Degree in Nursing (4 years) or Diploma in Nursing (3 years after graduation from high school (12 years) Registered NursePREFERRED:Post graduate certificate in specialty if applicable in country of originExperience: ESSENTIAL:2+ years of recent clinical nursing experience within the relevant specialty from a highly esteemed healthcare institutionCertification and Licensure: ESSENTIAL:Valid professional nursing license in country of origin Meets licensing requirements of the State of QatarJob Specific Skills and Abilities: ESSENTIAL:Effective communication skills Excellent team player Motivated and enthusiastic Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Fluency in written and spoken EnglishPopulation: Neonate, infant, toddler, pre-school age, school age, adolescent, young adultsCare environment: Comprehensive Care and management of assigned population with a variety of medical diagnoses in an acute care environment.KEY COMPETENCIES: Competencies to be assessed as outlined in the Pediatric Medicine unit orientation and competency booklets. These competencies include but are not limited to:Care of the Child Requiring: Non-invasive ventilation Chest tubes High flow nasal cannula Tracheostomy Central line care and management Gtube care and managementSpecifically: Growth and development, Birth - adult Head-to-toe assessment, recognition of the deteriorating child IV fluid management; monitoring of input/output Specimen collection Care planning Medication administration Nutritional requirements and enteral feeding Pain assessment and management Risk screening and management Skin integrity Management and insertion of urinary catheter and bladder care Transfusion management Point of care testing Wound care Naso tracheal suctioningKEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Professionalism and Ethical PracticePractices within the DHP Scope of Practice according to licensure within the State of Qatar Provides total individualized patient care and assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, discharge planning for each patient.
