What do we expect from you?Under the guidance of the Director of Engineering / Engineering Supervisor or designate, to operate, repair, troubleshoot and maintain the hotel’s kitchen, laundry and electro-mechanical equipment. Attend to maintenance requests, as assigned by his supervisors in accordance with the departmental standards.How your day looks like?To carry out maintenance all repair and maintenance of various electrical systemsTo carry out installation, operation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of all kitchen (gas and electric), coffee machines, laundry and electro-mechanical equipment and associated plantTo carry out preventive maintenance tasks on all kitchen (gas and electric), laundry and electro-mechanical equipment and associated plantTo participate in hotel emergency response teamTo participate in hotel energy conservation programTo control of all heat, light and power equipment according to the need of the hotelTo be thoroughly familiar with all regulations regarding safety at work and observe these meticulously at all timesTo observe cleanliness at the place of work and on the job after completion of workTo ensure that personal grooming and hygiene standards are being observed, particularly when working in guest areasTo report all defects observed to Director of Engineer, Assistant Chief EngineerTo perform duties outside the scope of his trade in case of emergency, if so called uponTo attend all on job training in accordance with the departmental standards and proceduresTo ensure that all engineering standards and procedures as issued from time are followedTo supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering department and their safe returnTo ensure that the Engineering workshop is at all times maintained in clean and tidy conditionTo act as part of fire party under direction of security when requiredTo ensure that all reported maintenance issues are completed in a timely mannerTo ensure that that all preventative maintenance is carried out as directed by senior engineering personnelTo be able to prioritize all jobs on hotel expert in order to maximize guest satisfaction and minimize disruption to guests and staff alikeTo be fully aware and trained on the fire panel and procedures to be component in the event of an emergencyTo follow key signing procedures and take responsibility for assigned keysTo carry out any other reasonable request made by the ManagementTo assist other trades within the engineering department where necessaryTo work under direction of the appointed representative of the Director of EngineeringTo incorporate all of the core values in the day to day practice of being an engineerTo work as part of the team on projects, Capital Expenditure projects and ongoing maintenance programsTo work alongside other Departments in a supportive role to facilitate the smooth running of the team and departmentTo check plant equipment on a daily basis to ensure that all plant is running and report / repair any faults foundTo hand over all jobs that were requested during shift to engineering supervisor or Director of EngineeringTo be accountable for all related tasks during shift and hand over if uncompleted.1.
