Ensurethe achievement of guest satisfaction and the optimization ofrevenue by managing the inhouse room situation and the provision ofservices that meet the unique needs of guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:


FinancialReturns

  • Help prepare annualdepartmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budgetand control expenses with a focus on increasedproductivity.
  • Maintain proper inventory levelsmanaging cost per room for supplies and labor (example: bed& bath linen reuse and laundry operation).
  • Control expenses and minimize waste within all areas ofhousekeeping.

People

  • Managedaytoday staffing requirements plan and assign work and establishperformance and development goals for employees. Provide mentoringcoaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improveemployee performance
  • Educate and train allemployees in compliance with governmental and safety regulations.Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment tocarry out job duties
  • Promote teamwork andquality service through daily communication and coordination withother department heads
  • May assist with deepcleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during highvolume periods
  • Monitor performance andrecommend disciplinary action in accordance with company rules andpolicies. Alert management of potentially seriousissues.
  • Ensure all staff is properly trainedand have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry outtheir respective job duties.
  • Promote teamwork andquality service through daily communication and coordination withother departments.

GuestExperience

  • Check publicareas guest rooms/suites equipment linens are clean and in goodrepair advise team members of areas ofimprovements
  • Perform housekeeping dutiesnecessary including making beds as well as vacuuming and cleaningguest suites to ensure guestsatisfaction
  • Handle complaints and specialrequests to achieve complete guestsatisfaction
  • Comply with special needs andrequests of the guests VIPs and repeatvisitors
  • Respond to guest complaints specialrequests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve completeguest satisfaction.
  • Inspect all assigned areas to ensurefurnishing guest rooms/ suites equipment linens and public areasare clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction. Adviseemployees of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action.Provide adequate retraining as needed.

ResponsibleBusiness

  • Maintainand order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient mannerwhile minimizing waste and maintaining green initiatives (example:container recycling and cleaning agents)
  • Maymaintain procedures for security of lost and founditems
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Mayalso serve as manager on duty
  • Assist withscheduling and room assignments to ensure propercoverage.
  • Inspect storage rooms and roomattendant carts for neatness cleanliness adequate supplies and goodrepair.
  • Complete all paperwork and closingduties such as filing out supply requisitions maintenance requestforms and updating log books etc.
  • May performall housekeeping duties necessary including making beds andvacuuming and cleaning guest rooms to ensure guestsatisfaction.
  • Report turn in and/or log alllost and found items according to establishedprocedures.
  • May regularly assist with deepcleaning projects.
  • May assist with other duties asassigned.

Qualification AndRequirements

High School Diploma orequivalent plus 12 years housekeeping experience preferably in ahotel of similar size and complexity including some supervisorytraining/experience. Must speak fluent English.

Other:

  • Communicationskills are utilized a significant amount of time when interactingwith guests and employees.
  • Reading and writingabilities are utilized often when compiling departmental recordslogs or paperwork.
  • Basic mathematical skillsare used occasionally.
  • May be required to worknights weekends and/orholidays
