Reportingto:Head of HighSchool
Inordertofill this role effectively the successful candidate will need tohave a diverse range of qualities competencies and experience. TheHS MYP & DPMathsTeacher should be an outstanding learner motivator and communicatorwith excellent interpersonal skills and should be capable ofcreating an environment of mutual support and respect byidentifying and addressing factors that inhibit learning. He/sheshould be able to provide support to students staff and parents tofacilitate the development of an internationally minded communitywhich shares a common interest in preserving the environment caringfor each other and engaging enthusiastically in learning.
QualificationsandExperience
1.1.Bachelor s degree inMathsorequivalent
1.2Qualified teacher status appropriate to the teaching duties to beundertaken.
1.2.Experience with the IB DiplomaProgramme(DP) and Middle YearsProgramme(MYP)Maths.
Knowledgeand Skills. S/he shouldhave:
2.1.alignment with the ISL values of diversity passion identity andunderstanding.
2.2. excellent communication skills with the ability to effectivelycommunicate inEnglish.
2.3. highlevel understanding of current research on how studentslearn and the ability to motivate high schoolstudents.
2.4. ability to inspire students of varying backgrounds andabilities through differentiated instruction and engaging learningopportunities.
2.5. capability to support student needs in learning and pastoralmatters.
2.6. awareness of the principles of Understanding by Design andAssessment forLearning.
2.7. active participation in the development of the high school andfostering teamspirit.
2.8. stay informed about current developments and research findingsin the field of high school teaching and learning ofMaths.
2.9. Effective time management skills to manage a diverse anddemandingworkload.
Responsibilities.
3.1.Implement DP and MYP policy and strategicplans.
3.2.Collaborate with the Head of High School and the MYP and DPCoordinators to ensure effective curriculum delivery includingresource selection andmanagement.
3.3.Participate in the design development implementation and review ofthe DP and MYPcurriculum.
3.4. Contribute to the design development implementation and reviewof assessment and reportingsystems.
3.5.Promote the health and safety of high schoolclasses.
3.6.Engage in professional development and contribute to regular stafftraining andmeetings.
3.7.Foster a sense of team spirit inthehigh school andbuild connections with colleagues across theschool.
3.8.Contribute to community service and global citizenshipgoals.
3.9.Participate in the extracurricular activities program of theschool.
3.10.Promote a positive attitude between the high school and the widercommunity through cooperative relations publications competitionsand otherinitiatives.
3.11.Enhance the professional standing of the teachingbody.
3.12.Participate in the ongoing development of the DP and MYP addressingmatters from the authorizationreport.
3.13Use technology to support high school learning especially throughthe use of a Virtual Learning Environment (e.g.ManageBacMicrosoft Teamsetc.).
3.14.Support the school in meeting its program obligations for NEASC andtheIB.
3.15.Contribute to the development of Assessment for Learning (AFL) andUnderstanding by Design (UBD) within the highschool.
