• Prepare and portion ingredients for various dishes according to the recipes provided.
• Follow established kitchen procedures and recipes to ensure consistency in food quality.
• Cooking:
• Cook and plate dishes in accordance with the menu specifications and presentation standards.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality.
• Station Management:
• Manage a specific station on the cooking line, such as the grill, sauté, or fry station.
• Coordinate with other line cooks to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of orders.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect and taste food for quality before it is served to customers.
• Ensure that all food leaving the kitchen meets the established standards for taste and presentation.
• Cleanliness and Sanitation:
• Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, including regular cleaning of equipment and utensils.
• Communication:
• Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, and other line cooks.
• Coordinate with servers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
• Adaptability:
• Be able to handle a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Quickly adapt to changes in the menu or kitchen procedures.
• Stock and Inventory Management:
• Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels of ingredients.
• Report shortages or discrepancies to the chef or kitchen manager.
• Teamwork:
