Marketing Executive/Asst. Marketing Managerat The Plaza Doha, LXR Hotels & Resorts -Hilton
What will I bedoing?

As Marketing PublicRelations Executive, you will be responsible for the results of themarketing plan and activities used by the hotel to increase brandawareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target marketsand address hotel business needs. Specifically, you will performthe following tasks to the higheststandards:

Business Function

  • Coordinate and assist with deliveringall agreed marketing and PR strategies and monitor on-goingmarketing and PR campaigns performance and reporting as directed bythe Line Manager
  • Support the Line Manager bydeveloping and implementing promotional activity, collateral andin-house merchandising as well as maintaining the hotels'media library to include video, film and press coveragearchives
  • Promote the hotels' marketingactivities to the media covering all food and beverage, rooms andevent promotions
  • Support all internalcommunication activities including, but not limited to, regionaland area updates, press release writing, newsletters and draftingspeeches for company executives and assisting with seniormanagement interviews with relevant preparationmaterial
  • Promote and support all marketing andPR activities including special events, sponsorship opportunities,merchandising campaigns, exhibitions and propertyinspections
  • Support the department with mediarelations involving tracking social media, updating press kits,archiving news releases and press coverage, maintaining mediadatabases, coordinating interviews, and ensuring relevantadministrative duties are completed in advance of mediavisits
  • Organise and manage familiarisationtrips for media professionals and entertain local media whereappropriate
  • Assist with and, where required,lead on-site photos shoots and hotel filming whilst ensuring allrelevant administration approvals are completed andconfirmed
  • Monitor and support Line Manager onall social media activity for the hotels whilst supportingdepartmental initiatives
  • Be a brand championfor the hotels ensuring all collateral conforms to agreed brandstandards, using the right tone and voice compliant with corporateguidelines
  • Support and identify opportunitiesalong with the Line Manager to grow and develop loyalty marketingactivities with HHonors and other booker incentiveschemes
  • Execute and implement appropriate useof marketing and PR content, creative resources, translation andphotography while optimising an effective online presence in linewith regional strategy
  • Respond to customerpostings as appropriate tackling any complaints andissues

ManagingExecution

  • Support the LineManager in executing effective content management across allavailable channels, including hotel websites, OTAs, social media,mobile marketing and partnershipprograms
  • Develop monthly / quarterly reports onactivities highlighting results and nextsteps
  • Develop, maintain and grow thehotels' databases to promote all hotel disciplinesincluding targeted HHonors campaigns
  • Be mindfuland attentive of local news or stories affecting hotel business andinform line management swiftly and effectively on information whichcould impact the reputation of thehotels.
  • Actively respond to requests forinformation about the hotels
  • Assist indeveloping reports on specific marketing and PR initiatives andpromotions
  • Assist in reviewing third partywebsite content, ensuring standards are met and information isaccurate, creative and current
  • Execute andreport on competitive analysis on hotel, food and beverage andeCommerce marketing activities and maximise compatibility withpublic relations efforts
  • Ensure hotels haveappropriate marketing and PR archives and content including up todate media lists, press kits, collateral, photo and video library,newsletters, brochures, desktop publishing and all matters relatingto marketing and PR
  • Support and assistmanagement in marketing and PR projects including resources withbudget implications
  • Support all communicationsconnected with hotel crisis and issues set out by the LineManager
  • Achieve agreed performance goals andobjectives of role set out by Line Manager and complete anyreasonable task given from the Line Manager in a responsible andproductive manner

Developing Talent

  • The executive role focuses more onself-development as opposed to developing team members

Building Relationships

  • Establish and maintain effectiverapport and open communication with all hoteldisciplines
  • Develop strong workingrelationships with various levels of Hilton's personnelincluding hotel and regional teams and comply to Hilton corevalues
  • Develop and manage working relationshipswith key members of the creative and mediaagencies
  • Work effectively within the clustermarketing and PR team as well as supporting all hotel departmentsincluding regional levels on marketing and PRcampaigns
  • Support the Line Manager to developand maintain effective working relationships with all externalcustomers to include key members of the media, communityorganisations, local and municipality government officials, localindustry organisations as well as suppliers andagencies.
  • Excel at being an effective teamplayer in all aspects of the role

  • PreviousMarketing and/or Press Relations experience in a similarenvironment
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills in English. High level proficiency of nativelanguage dependant on location of role
  • Stronganalytical skills to understand key business indicators andcompetitive trends and develop approaches to thesechallenges
  • Ability to work under pressure atall times
  • Educated to College level orequivalent work experience
  • Demonstrates abilityto interact effectively with various levels ofmanagement
  • Proven experience of working to andunderstanding key marketing and PR disciplines, plans andstrategies
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills in English. High level proficiency of nativelanguage dependant on location ofrole
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Officeapplications, budget management and project and timemanagement
  • Demonstrates an understanding ofcommercial awareness, able to adapt to changing priorities with keyjudgement and decision making skills
  • Exhibitsprevious experience of written work in a communicationsrole
  • Able to interact effectively, createsolutions, influence others and work diplomatically with a widerange of individuals
  • Professional approach,clean and well groomed at all times
  • Friendlydemeanour, positive and enthusiastic attitude with strong customerfocus and ability to workindependently
  • Honesty, integrity, passion forhard work and achieving results and successfuloutcomes
  • Demonstrated self-starter, withexcellent attention to detail
  • Creatively mindedand has a desire to work in marketing and/or PR for the hospitalityindustry
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and isa key team player with a “can do” attitude andthrives on a challenge
  • Good understanding ofHilton, its core values and management structure

It would be advantageous in thisposition for you to demonstrate the following capabilities anddistinctions:

  • Previousexperience of working in a marketing and PR role for thehospitality industry
  • Able to speak further keybusiness languages
  • Qualifications or coursesrelating to creative, descriptive or effectivewriting
  • Experience of working with media anddesign agencies
  • Educated to College level withprevious marketing and PR experience
