JOBSUMMARY

Responsible for proactively soliciting andhandling group/catering related opportunities for all participatingproperties. Handles group/catering opportunities not handled by theEvent Booking Center. Actively upsells each business opportunityand appropriately places business into the right brand/property tomaximize revenue. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals.Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely manner forproper service delivery and in accordance with brand standards.Responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering serviceexcellence throughout each customerexperience.

CANDIDATEPROFILE

Education andExperience

  • High schooldiploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing guestservices front desk or related professionalarea.

OR

  • 2yeardegree from an accredited university in Business AdministrationMarketing Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major; no workexperience required.

CORE WORKACTIVITIES

Building Successful Relationships thatGenerate SalesOpportunities

  • Workscollaboratively with offproperty sales channels (e.g. Event BookingCenter Market Sales Strategic Accounts) to ensure sales efforts arecoordinated complementary and notduplicative.
  • Builds andstrengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enablefuture bookings. Activities include sales calls entertainment FAMtrips trade showsetc.
  • Developsrelationships within community to strengthen and expand customerbase for group/catering salesopportunities.
  • Manages anddevelops relationships with key internal and externalstakeholders.
  • Providesaccurate complete and effective turnover to EventManagement.

Conducting Daily Sales Activities thatAchieve DepartmentGoals

  • Responds to incominggroup/catering opportunities for the property that are outsideparameters of the Event BookingCenter.
  • Uses negotiatingskills and creative selling abilities to close on business andnegotiate contracts.
  • Usessales resources and administrative/support staffeffectively.
  • Executes andsupports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g.generating proposal writing contract customercorrespondence).

Using Knowledge of Market Trends andTarget Customer Information to MaximizeRevenue

  • Identifies newgroup/catering business to achieve personal and property revenuegoals.
  • Understands theoverall market competitors strengths and weaknesses economic trendssupply and demand etc. and knows how to sell againstthem.
  • Closes the bestopportunities for the property based on market conditions andproperty needs.
  • Monitorssame day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and controlproperty occupancy.
  • Gainsunderstanding of the propertys primary target customer and serviceexpectations; serves the customer by understanding their businessbusiness issues and concerns to offer better business solution bothprior to and during theprogram/event.

Providing Exceptional Customer Serviceto all Guests andCustomers

  • Supports thecompanys Service and Relationship Strategy driving customer loyaltyby delivering service excellence throughout each customerexperience.
  • Services ourcustomers in order to grow share of theaccount.
  • Executes andsupports the companys Customer Service Standards and propertysBrand Standards.
  • Providesexcellent customer service consistent with the daily service basicsof the brand.
  • Executesexemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction andloyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfactionbefore and during theirprogram/event.
  • Partnerswith Event Management and/or Operations in providing a customerexperience that exceeds the customersexpectations.
  • Sets apositive example for guestrelations.
  • Interacts withguests to obtain feedback on product quality and servicelevels.
  • Attends pre andpostconvention meetings to understand group needs obtain feedbackon quality of product (e.g. rooms meeting facilities and equipmentfood and beverage) service levels and overallsatisfaction.
  • Executes andsupports the companys Customer Service Standards and propertysBrand Standards.
  • Executesexemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction andloyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfactionbefore and during theirprogram/event.
  • Serves thecustomer by understanding their needs and recommending theappropriate features and services that best meet their needs andexceed their expectations while building a relationship and loyaltyto the company.

Additional Sales and MarketingResponsibilities

  • Utilizesintranet for resources andinformation.
  • Conducts siteinspections.
  • Createscontracts asrequired.
  • Participates inand practices daily service basics of thebrand.
