Overall Purpose of Role Psychiatry PhysicianAssistant/Nurse Practitioner is responsible for managingindividuals with medical and behavioral health problems within theprimary care setting. In addition, this position may also requirethe development and implementation of wellness programs. KeyResponsibilities: • Provide behavioral health, andaddiction medicine services. • Provide employee assistanceprogram services. • Work directly with primary health careproviders in identifying and treating mental disorders andpsychosocial difficulties including the detection of at-riskpatients and further harm prevention. • Provideconsultative services to patients referred by primary careproviders and provide clinical status. • Determinespatient care plans along with the primary care team. •Maintains accurate patient records including the proper tracking oftreatment plans. • Educates the primary care team on mooddisorders (such as depression and anxiety) and providing tools andtechniques to manage these disorders including, anger managementand marital and family issues. • Teaches patients,families and staff about prevention methods and treatment options.• Provides recommendations for coping strategies thatassist members of the workforce in reducing the stress of OCONUSlife. • Monitors the site’s behavioral healthprogram, identifying problems related to patient services andmaking recommendations for improvement. • Utilizes variouscomputer software to log patient information and access emails andcalendars. • Active participation in day-to-day officeactivities, including a variety of meetings and task force groupsto improve procedural processes, obtain approvals, and remainabreast of new developments and policy requirements. Activeparticipation in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Other dutieswithin the scope of practice and administrative duties as directedby the CMO Participates in MASCAL drills and events.Qualifications: Experience Required: • Minimum three (3)years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) or NursePractitioner (NP) in behavioral health. Education/CertificationRequired: • Current and unrestricted license from any USState, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcarewithin scope of practice. • Current American HeartAssociation Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS) certification. • American Heart Association- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is preferred.• DEA License. Physical Requirements: • Work isnormally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.• Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periodsof time. • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to15 lbs. Other Special Qualifications: • Ability to obtainand maintain a clearance to drive company vehicles. • Mustbe able to read, write and speak English to effectivelycommunicate. • This position is unaccompanied. •US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. •Ability to obtain a DoS clearance if one is required. •Must be able to relocate to Qatar. • A valid passport isrequired and must be in your possession prior to relocation.
