AS/400 System Administrator

We are currently looking System Administrator for our Qatar operations with the following terms & conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

• University Degree or equivalent in computer science or related field.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Windows and OS/400 operating system. Knowledge of Sun, Linux and AIX operating system is a plus.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking applications / solutions. Islamic banking products is preferable

• Excellent knowledge in AS/400 securities and system monitoring/performance and optimization tools

• Excellent experience with Equation core banking system and related applications (TI, EBA etc.) and ability to analyze and resolve or report technical problems to vendors with required information’s.

• Reporting and documentation tools in MS Word, MS Excel, Crystal Reports and Visio, etc

• Should have knowledge of Industry-Standard Data Storage, Replication, Communication, Backup, and

• Disaster Recovery Procedures.

• Concepts and administration of server, computer, database, and network systems including

Special Skills

• Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting operating systems/hardware problems, and excellent experience in analyzing technical problems

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English & Arabic

• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with team, and ability to work under pressure

• Current practices and methods of systems administration, security, and maintenance

• Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

• Take decision to resolve the problems. Seek out appropriate information and data from

• Stakeholders to evaluate, prioritize, and formulate the best solution or practice.

• Good leadership and ability to supervise, train, lead operation team to achieve IT targets

• Perform system vulnerability assessments and make appropriate recommendations and methods to counter threats to systems

• Think critically—Use logic and analysis to identify the potential enhancements and flaws in

• Security measures .
