Assistant Mechanic

About the job:

In this interesting role you will be working in our Maintenance & Logistics - Workshop  Department.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Adherence to quality, health & Safety, Information security and business continuity policies.


• Assist diesel mechanic in correcting vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling/ disassembling and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as power and drivetrains, fuel, emission, brake, steering and hydraulics.


• Complete machine shop operations.


• Adjust and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.


• Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.


• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and identifying worn and damaged parts.


• Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager as per business requirements.


• Perform proper housekeeping in the Workshop. General tools & lifting Equipment keep clean in suitable places after used for daily activities.


• Minimize oil spillages from the machines to workshop as well as sites grounds, make sure proper tools & equipment use for daily activities as per the safety rules & regulations of the organization

About you:

For you to be successful you will need to have the following:

• High school certification is required.


• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience is required.


• Basic communication skills in English is required.
