In this role, you will be working in our Sand Operations (Plant Operations) Department, supporting Al‑Awalia’s operations by monitoring and controlling plant activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance in line with operational standards and procedures.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.
- Monitor plant operations through SCADA systems and control room interfaces to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
- Identify and report abnormal operating conditions or equipment issues promptly.
- Coordinate closely with foremen and field operators to maintain continuous and efficient plant operations.
- Support equipment start-up and shutdown activities as per operational requirements.
- Monitor filter press operations and assist in related maintenance activities when required.
- Track and record operational data using logs, journals, and control system tools.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports on plant status and operational performance.
- Recommend improvements to enhance plant reliability, performance, and output.
- Ensure the control room remains secure and accessible only to authorized personnel.
- Maintain compliance with all operational procedures and safety standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and service providers to support plant operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the department.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager.
About you
For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
- Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in plant operations or control room environments.
- Good command of the English language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial control processes.
- Good understanding of plant operations, equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with equipment such as conveyors, screens, control devices, and valves.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and operational best practices.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach with strong attention to monitoring and reporting.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Good planning, organization, and task management abilities.
- Commitment to achieving operational targets and continuous improvement.
