Chief Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team, responsible for financial management and accounting activities for both our hotel chain and HVAC company. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling the financial operations of multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting decision-making processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both the hotel chain and HVAC company.
• Consolidate financial data from multiple entities and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts for each entity.
• Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and promptly.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions and resolve discrepancies.

Cash Management:

• Monitor cash flow and liquidity for both entities.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage cash reserves efficiently.

Tax Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations for both entities.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file tax returns.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and assess financial risks.

Internal Controls:

• Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Perform periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.

Financial Systems Management:

• Maintain and update accounting systems and software for both entities.
• Provide training and support to staff on financial systems and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality and construction industries.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
