Job Description - Computer Science ICT Teacher

  • Shared Ideas. You know and modelyour school’s values and contribute to its mission andvision through your daily actions. Through all aspects of learningand teaching, you create a strong sense of shared behaviors andpurpose for learners and their learning.
  • AFocus on Learners and Learning. You put learners and their learningfirst. Your understanding of the difference between learning andthe factors that affect learning enables you to plan and support agood struggle for all your students to get better. You arecommitted to your personal and professional learning anddevelopment, engaging in a series of learning visits and inquirieswith colleagues and leaders to support your ongoingself-evaluation. You are an active and valued member of dynamiclearning communities,
  • Learning and Teaching.You put learners and their learning first in your design andfacilitation of learning outcomes, content and experiences, whichare underpinned by positive and supportive relationships. Youunderstand the types and phases of learning and apply yourknowledge, skills and understanding of these to effectivelyfacilitate learning, teaching, and assessing to meet thepersonalized needs of each student. You empower students to leadtheir own learning, supporting them to monitor, assess and adjusttheir learning in response to feedback. You continuously inquireinto the process of learning, making evidence-informed decisionsand taking action to further improve learning andteaching.
  • Evidence of Learning. You gather,document and analyses evidence of learning from various sources anduse this to identify targets and action steps for improvinglearning. You support students in knowing the different ways theirlearning can be evidenced and how to use feedback and learningadvice to get better. Evidence enables you to make secure judgmentsabout your students’ learning in line with their personallearning goals, age and stage appropriate expectations, and local,national and international benchmarking. You document and shareevidence of learning to answer the questions: “What aremy students learning?” and “How do Iknow?”.
  • Leadership for Learning. Yousee yourself as a leader for learning and demonstrate the samevision, values and commitment as school leaders to support studentsto continuously learn and get better. You take responsibility forwhere students are now with their learning and the targets andaction steps needed to improve. You support students to becomeleaders of their own learning by helping them develop their voice,choice and ownership of their learningprocess.
  • Learning Spaces. You create and usespaces to support and demonstrate the school’s sharedideas about learners and learning and the ways in which studentsare getting better. You ensure learning spaces (physical anddigital) are safe, collaborative, accessible and inclusive, andenable students to play an active role in theirdevelopment.
  • In Partnership with Parents andCarers. You work in partnership with parents and carers,communicating with them regularly about their child’slearning, inviting their feedback and using this feedback toimprove learning. You help parents and carers understand theschool’s shared ideas about learners and learning in waysthat help them to engage confidently when talking about what theirchild is getting better at, what their next steps are, and how theywill be supported at home. You ensure that the individual needs ofparents and carers are understood and that they feel informed andinvolved as valued members of the school’s learningcommunity.
  • Improvement Planning. You arecommitted to learning and getting better and ensure thisimprovement happens strategically and effectively. You are activeand accountable for your contribution in setting your ownprofessional goals, targets and action steps that focus onimproving learning and gathering evidence to demonstrate these. Youcontribute to department and school learning improvement planningwhere possible and view the school’s learning improvementplan as the central focus for getting bettertogether.
