JobOverview:

The Construction SupportEngineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Construction Support(Eng) and with a moderate level of guidance and direction fromcolleagues and leadership is responsible for solving ConstructionSupport (Eng) problems. They will be responsible for analyzingpossible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledgeof the company processes and customers. The Construction SupportEngineer understands critical business drivers and applies thisknowledge to solve problems by analyzing possible solutions usingtechnical experience judgment andprecedents.

KeyTasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform FEED Studies anddetailed design engineering analysis and calculations on morecomplex and demanding engineering tasks
• Applyknowledge and skills to complete varied assignments
• Prepare clear and accurate detailed designcalculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
• Prioritize and organize own work to meetdeadlines
• Focus on completing work withinbudgets
• Clearly communicate and explaininformation in straightforward engineering activities
• Gain familiarity with the project scope ofwork specifications schedule and all interdiscipline requirements;including identifying concerns as early as practicable
• Recognize changes to scope and notify theDiscipline Lead Engineer
• Interface with alldisciplines to develop clash free designs
• Interface with other departments to obtaininput for Discipline designs and drawings
• Document substantive communications(communications that result in significant decisions or assignmentof actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer andDiscipline Manager
• Provide required bid inputsas directed
• Prepare sketches of detail designto guide Designers
• Assist procurementpersonnel in producing discipline equipment materials and servicesProcurement assistance includes preparing requisitions evaluatingtechnical quotations preparing queries compiling bid tabulationsand recommendations preparing purchase requisitions andcoordinating with Procurement to expedite vendor documents asdirected by Discipline Lead Engineer
• ReviewMTOs for requisitions
• Assist in updatingweight report based on receipt of vendor information
• Check drawings
• Checkengineering performed by others within the discipline
• Review vendor subcontractor submittalschecking for compliance with project specifications and providingcomments as necessary
• Perform designverification through singlediscipline checks and assist withinterdiscipline checks (IDC)
• Keep the LeadEngineer apprised of all activities progress and concerns
• Check final subcontractor and vendor datamanuals to ensure that all requested data has been received andapproved
• Capture lessons learned and enterinto MDRs Lessons Learned system
• Develop anawareness of costs related to own work and of the discipline
• In FabCSE perform/review designs analysesevaluations calculations and procedures such as:
  • Erection sequences for jackets topsides andother structures
  • Loadout procedures andguidance during the operations
  • Constructionlift analyses and procedures for activities such as floatoverstackings rollups etc.
  • Weighing procedures
  • Design and detailing of miscellaneousfabrication yard items
  • Crane arrangements andrigging arrangements
  • Trailerarrangements/operations including drawings and procedures
• Additional skills(Preferable not mandatory) Perform pipeline InstallationEngineering designs analyses evaluations calculations andprocedures for transporting and installing (including installationaids);
  • Submarine pipelines
  • Risers
  • Spools
  • PLETS and manifolds
  • Cables
• Additional skills(preferable not mandatory) perform Structural InstallationEngineering designs analyses evaluations calculations andprocedures for loadout transportation and installation (includinginstallation aids) of offshore structures including bargeupgrades/modifications
• Additional skills(Preferable not mandatory) Perform Naval Architecture engineeringdesigns analyses evaluations calculations and procedures related toall aspects of marine operations covering loadout transportationand installation including bargeupgrades

EssentialQualifications and Education:

• 37 years in oil and gaswith a major contractor or consultant predominantly performingdetail design
• Bachelors degree in NavalArchitecture Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering (Mastersdegree preferred)
