  • Approve electrical maintenance procedures, testing requirements, isolation protocols, and technical documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with Class rules, Flag State regulations, API/IEC standards, and hazardous area (EX) requirements.

Electrical System Reliability & Advanced Troubleshooting

  • Lead high-level diagnostics and failure investigations for generators, powergeneration systems, switchboards, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), transformers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), and distribution networks.

  • Guide rig electricians through complex and highrisk troubleshooting, load restoration, and protectionsystem interventions.

  • Validate RCA findings and ensure corrective actions address underlying electrical failure modes and protection failures.

Electrical Maintenance Strategy & Execution Assurance

  • Review and enhance PM strategies, testing intervals, and verification routines for electrical safetycritical equipment and protection systems.

  • Validate CMMS job plans, protection-setting requirements, and maintenance workflows for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure maintenance execution adheres to electrical safety standards and supports reliability, uptime, and certification compliance.

Electrical Safety, Audit & Compliance

  • Conduct safety audits covering grounding/bonding, insulation resistance, hazardousarea equipment, protection relay testing, and emergency power systems.

  • Verify certification status, EX registers, and testing records in line with Class and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify electrical nonconformities, assess risk, and recommend mitigation actions to Head of Maintenance/ senior technical leadership.

Electrical Projects, Upgrades & Commissioning

  • Provide subjectmatter expertise for electrical upgrades, generator replacements, VFD installations, and switchboard modernizations.

  • Review engineering deliverables, project scopes, singleline diagrams, and FAT/SAT procedures.

  • Approve protection settings, electrical integration plans, loadimpact studies, and verify all electrical changes under the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Critical Spares, Obsolescence & Reliability Engineering

  • Assess and review critical spare inventories, obsolescence risks, and longlead electrical components with Supply Chain/ Procurement and Planning.

  • Monitor electrical reliability KPIs, trip/fault events, breaker performance, and system anomalies.

  • Recommend lifecycle upgrades, redundancy improvements, and fleetwide electrical reliability enhancements.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Integrity

  • Maintain uptodate electrical singleline diagrams, load calculations, hazardous-area (EX) registers, and electrical certification files.

  • Issue detailed audit findings, incident analyses, and electrical integrity reports.
