Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our client’s maintenance team. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of heavy machinery and vehicles, with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of mechanical systems used in construction, mining, or industrial settings. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and adherence to safety standards

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy-duty equipment.
  

• Repair or replace defective parts in bulldozers, excavators, loaders, cranes, forklifts, dump trucks, and other heavy machinery.
  

• Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, brake checks, and filter replacements.
  

• Operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment to assess system malfunctions.
  

• Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and schematic diagrams.
  

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory.
  

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  

• Respond to emergency repair calls and conduct on-site maintenance when required.
  

• Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Essential Qualifications:

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  

• Certification in heavy equipment maintenance or diesel mechanics is an advantage.
  

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty mechanical repairs.
  

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and braking systems.
  

• Proficient in using hand and power tools, hoists, and precision measuring instruments.
  

• Ability to read technical diagrams and repair manuals.
  

• Familiarity with diagnostic software and fault detection systems.
  

• Excellent problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  

• Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
  

• Good physical stamina and ability to work in various environments (e.g., workshops, outdoors).
  

• Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
