In this role, you will be working in our HSSEQ Department, supporting Al‑Awalia’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, security, environment, and quality across all operational sites.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of HSSEQ policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Assist in conducting safety inspections, audits, and site observations to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor workplace activities to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and non-compliance issues, and report findings.
- Support incident reporting, investigation, and documentation processes.
- Assist in maintaining HSSEQ records, logs, reports, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Promote awareness of HSSEQ requirements and support safety campaigns and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with PPE requirements and safe work practices across operational areas.
- Support emergency response preparedness and drills as required.
- Coordinate with internal teams and contractors to promote a safe and compliant working environment.
- Assist in monitoring environmental practices and waste management in line with company standards.
- Support training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs related to HSSEQ topics.
- Help track and report HSSEQ KPIs and performance indicators.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the HSSEQ function.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager.
About you
For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in HSSE, safety, or compliance roles.
- Basic knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with safety inspections, incident reporting, and risk assessment processes.
- Good command of the English language; Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify risks and hazards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional attitude with integrity and commitment to safety standards.
