About the job:
In this interesting role, you will be working in our Legal Department, supporting the organization’s legal, regulatory, and contractual activities.
The Legal Developee role is designed for Qatari Nationals to support Al‑Awalia’s legal operations while developing legal, regulatory, and contract management capabilities through structured on‑the‑job training, mentorship, and development programs in line with Qatarization objectives.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Adherence to company policies including governance, compliance, information security, and business continuity requirements.
- Support the Legal Director and Legal Department in managing legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, consumer claims, and employee‑related cases under supervision.
- Assist in coordinating with external law firms, legal consultants, regulatory authorities, and other third parties on legal matters.
- Support legal actions and correspondence related to disputes with clients, partners, suppliers, and employees.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements across Al‑Awalia operations.
- Support the drafting, review, and management of legal correspondence related to compliance and regulatory matters.
- Assist in reviewing, drafting, and managing contracts, agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Support contract planning, implementation assessment, and contract management processes.
- Assist in monitoring signed contracts to ensure adherence to terms, conditions, and obligations by both Al‑Awalia and counterparties.
- Support contract negotiations under guidance to ensure compliant and favorable contractual terms.
- Conduct legal research on local, regional, and international laws, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to Al‑Awalia’s operations.
- Provide preliminary legal analysis and findings for review by the Legal Director.
- Support the development, update, and maintenance of legal templates, guidelines, and internal procedures.
- Assist in identifying legal and regulatory risks and support the implementation of mitigation measures.
- Support enterprise risk assessments related to legal and compliance matters and monitor the implementation of approved risk actions.
- Participate in departmental initiatives related to knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in training, mentoring, and development programs as part of Qatarization and national legal talent development initiatives.
- Perform any other ad‑hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the Legal Director in line with business requirements.
About you:
For you to be successful you will need to have the following:
- Qatari National / Child of Qatari Mother
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a related discipline is preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply!
- Postgraduate qualification (LLM, MBA, PGD) is an added advantage.
- Good command of English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Basic understanding of the Qatar legal framework, compliance requirements, and contract management principles.
- Strong interest in learning and developing a career within corporate legal and regulatory environments.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build effective internal and external relationships.
